After seeing that Not For Sale is selling chocolate, I was curious about which chocolate companies rate well or poorly in relation to labor standards.
This website provides some information.

However, I was very disappointed in the quality of the information available. The information under Hershey, for example, is about policy; but there is no evidence or even suggestion that they are actually using slave labor.
Does anyone know which of these companies, if any, actually use slave labor? I would welcome any other information that you guys have.
I am skeptical because a company can have the best policy in the world and not follow it, and all these ratings are based on policy.
I think the Polaris Project has worked on this as well. Try their website, I believe that have some good hard stats. Also, If you go to the link on the right, the TIP website I think had a list of countries that have been identified and exactly what industries they are trafficking in. Pretty interesting data, actually.
