The line between good and evil does not run between nations, religions, or political groups, but through every human heart. That is why we must stop demonizing our enemies and instead recognize that they are just like us. Jesus showed this by revealing the good in those considered enemies (Mt 8:5ff) and the sin in those considered righteous (Mt 23:23).
any thoughts? i thought it was particularly applicable to our discussion on tuesday night.

That is such a great quote, and so true. It's also so close to what the book (ch. 1) is talking about! The line between good and evil is not supposed to separate "us" from "them", but instead it shows the internal conflicts of each person. Such an interesting way to think about evil, and also very hard to digest.
